PARIS (Reuters) – The government’s bill on immigration was approved on Tuesday by deputies, by 349 votes to 186, paving the way for promulgation by President Emmanuel Macron and the entry into force of a text which will have put the executive in great difficulty.

Earlier in the day, senators had already voted in favor of the revised text in the joint committee (CMP).

The deputies rejected a first version of the text on December 11, forcing the government to resort to a CMP to find an agreement on a crucial bill for the executive.
