France: the trade deficit widened to 12.4 billion euros in March

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–France’s trade balance deficit reached 12.4 billion euros in March, after 10.4 billion euros in February, according to figures published Monday by the Direction générale customs.

This widening of the deficit is explained by an increase in imports, to which is added a slight decline in exports.

In March, exports stood at 45.7 billion euros, after 45.8 billion euros the previous month. Over one month, imports increased by 3.6%, rising from 56.1 billion euros in February to 58.1 billion euros in March.
