PARIS (Reuters) – The unemployment rate calculated according to the standards of the International Labor Office (ILO) remained almost stable in the third quarter in France (excluding Mayotte), posting a drop of 0.1 point over the period to settle at 7.3%, according to data published Tuesday by INSEE.

This drop of 0.1 point observed over the July-September period is within the margin of error of this estimate “to plus or minus 0.3 point” of the level of the unemployment rate.

At this level of 7.3% (down 0.7 points compared to that of the third quarter of 2021 and 0.9 points lower than before the health crisis, at the end of 2019), the unemployment rate in France is in line with the expectations of economists polled by Reuters and remains at its lowest level since early 2008.

The unemployment rate in France has fluctuated between 7.3% and 7.4% since the fourth quarter of 2021.
