France will face Denmark, Tunisia and Peru, or Australia, or the United Arab Emirates

A fairly balanced draw

Once is not custom, it is not easy to designate the famous group of death. The draw made in Doha by a host of former football glories is rather homogeneous.

France inherited Group D and opponents who could resemble three-quarters of those in the first round in 2018. Les Bleus will play against Denmark and with very good chances against the winner of a play-off between Peru and Australia, or maybe the United Arab Emirates. The first two nations were already in the French group in 2018 in Russia. The only novelty will be the presence of Tunisia.

The host country – Qatar – will open its World Cup against Ecuador. And then the World Cup debutants will face Senegal and the Netherlands, big favorites in this group A.

Group B allows a geopolitical opposition between the United States and Iran, already seen in 1998 in Lyon. England could find their Scottish enemy brother, if the latter first beats Ukraine in the semi-final of the play-off, then Wales in the final of the play-off.

Group C (Argentina, Mexico, Poland and Saudi Arabia) concerns France since it will be crossed with Group D in the round of 16. There is a chance that the Blues will find the Argentines in the round of 16, like in 2018.

Group E opposes two former World Cup winners, Germany and Spain. The poster for this first round. But the two European cadors will start as favorites against the other two teams in the pool, Costa Rica or New Zealand, as well as Japan.

Group F has French accents with Belgium, Morocco and Canada. The Croats, finalists of the 2018 World Cup, will be able to train in the language in order to perhaps find the Blues later.

In group G, the Brazilians, who need no introduction, will have to be wary of the Swiss, who will play without complex. For second place, the Serbs and Cameroonians will also have their cards to play.

And finally, in Group H – very globalized with a European, African, Asian and South American team – the Portuguese will have to beware of three rather homogeneous opponents with the tough Uruguayans, the Ghanaians (quarter-finalists in 2010) and the South -Koreans (semi-finalists in 2002).
