The little Ora Cat, or Ora Funky Cat, is eagerly awaited. It is a very serious alternative to the Peugeot e-208, the Renault Zoé or even the future MG4. Unfortunately, France will not be the first country served.

A European distributor for Great Wall

The good news is that the Chinese car brands Ora and Wey, of the Great Wall groupwill be sold by the distribution group Emil Frey. They should be introduced in Germany in the fall of 2022. Then, the United Kingdom seems to be one of the priority markets. The rest of the European countries will follow afterwards.

One of Wey’s first cars will be the Wey Coffee 01. It is a partially electric SUV, plug-in hybrid, which has a 350 kW / 476 hp engine consisting of a gasoline engine and a electric. The Ora Funky Cat, which we encountered in Norway, is a 100% electric city car that adopts a retro design with smooth lines on the outside and two large googly eyes with matrix LED technology as headlights. Two versions will be offered, a small battery with a capacity of 49 kWh, which should make it possible to reach 300 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. The large battery stores 63 kWh for 400 kilometers. The more powerful of the two electric motors with 126 kW (171 hp) will make it possible to do a 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. As for the small engine, it has a power of 105 kW (143 hp).

Note that it is also Emil Frey who distributes XPeng, at least for certain markets such as the Netherlands. It is also the distributor of Peugeot, Citroën and DS in Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, but also in Switzerland. In France, the latter distributes the Mitsubishi, Subaru and Ssangyong brands.
