Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk got married. Kurt Cobain’s daughter and Tony Hawk’s son were married by a real music icon.

The daughter of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain (1967-1994) and musician Courtney Love (59) and the son of professional skater Tony Hawk (55) are now husband and wife. As “TMZ” reports, citing relevant documents, Frances Bean Cobain (31) and Riley Hawk (30) have been married since the beginning of October. The ceremony took place in Los Angeles, California, after the couple received a marriage license in San Diego County in September.

The couple’s marriage certificate also shows that the celebrity offspring got married on October 7th and that the man who performed the ceremony was none other than the former REM frontman Michael Stipe (63).

Second marriage for Frances Bean Cobain

Cobain and Hawk have been dating since at least January 2021. Cute couple rumors first started on Reddit, where a user posted a photo of them having dinner with his parents Tony Hawk and Catherine Goodman. Other users liked the idea. One commented: “If they had a child their grandparents would be two of the biggest icons of the 1990s. Crazy.” Another put it this way, according to Mail Online: “The daughter of the best 1990s guy of all time is dating the son of the second best 1990s guy of all time.”

This is the second marriage for Frances Bean Cobain and the first for him. The American was previously married to Isaiah Silva (38) from 2014 to 2017. She had already filed for divorce from the musician in March 2016. What followed was a bitter dispute over her late father’s iconic Martin D-18e guitar. He played the acoustic instrument during the famous “MTV Unplugged Session”.

As “TMZ” reported in May 2018, the former couple reached a settlement six months after their divorce. Cobain’s entourage said at the time that they wanted Silva out of their lives forever and therefore did not want a trial.
