The Frankfurt am Main Higher Regional Court sentenced the suspended soldier Franco A. to five years and six months in prison on Friday. The judges stayed under the sentence of six years and three months demanded by the prosecution. The court saw it as proven that A. had planned a serious criminal offense endangering the state. The prosecution accused the German, who was born in 1989, of preparing them. He is said to have disguised himself as a Syrian refugee in 2015 in order to draw suspicion into the investigation of asylum seekers registered in Germany.
