And for good reason, the biopic New rich, released on Netflix Friday November 17 and produced by him, is off to a spectacular start. With Nassim Lyes and Zoé Marchal in the lead, the film rose to third place in the trends on the streaming platform. Yet, this 35-year-old film enthusiast – having followed three years during the courses of the Higher School of Audiovisual Production – has not always worked in the seventh art.

Monday November 20, the specialist magazine Telerama notably began his article with: “‘Am I supposed to laugh at your lame jokes?’ It’s the question from one character to another, but sometimes we want to ask Julien Royal, the director of this comedy.” And to continue: “Perhaps, moreover, said Julien Royal regularly asks the question to his father, François Hollande (who nevertheless makes good jokes), or even to his mother, Ségolène. It’s not our business.“
