Frank Buschmann: "Our family is complete"

Frank Buschmann appreciates his luck. In the summer he said yes to his fiancée, and professionally, despite Corona, things are going well for him.

"I am aware that I am very lucky," explains the moderator and sports commentator Frank Buschmann (55) in an interview. Unlike many of his colleagues, the Corona crisis has no impact on the 55-year-old's career. "I am very fortunate that we were able to shoot the big productions in our own bubbles under Corona conditions. I also regularly sit at the microphone at football. I am extremely humble that all of this is possible."

"We are very happy"

In the crisis, he is particularly concerned about "how we treat each other. We should think about that in peace," he continues. Aside from filming, he mainly spends time with his "wonderful family". In the summer he gave his long-term partner, presenter Lisa Heckl (38), the word of consent. "We are very happy," he enthuses in an interview. No offspring is planned. "Our family is complete," the commentator clarifies. Buschmann has two daughters from his first marriage.

The fourth season of his sports comedy show "A league of its own – Buschi's six-chain" starts on November 9th on Sky One (every Monday at 8:15 pm and on demand at Sky Ticket). Fans can look forward to "lots of fun, self-irony and guests who like to laugh but also tell great stories". Buschmann was particularly impressed by the two-time Olympic champion Kristina Vogel (29), who is paraplegic after an accident. Also great are the "teasing between the generations at the Neureuther family, Felix versus Christian."

"I've become mild over time"

Buschmann is supported in the new season by newcomer Fabian Köster (25), whom many should know from the "Today Show" on ZDF. In the new section "Between two posts" he has guests, among others, the former soccer players Ansgar Brinkmann (51) and Mario Basler (51) as well as the beach volleyball Olympic champion Julius Brink (38). Comedian Matze Knop (45) and Panagiota Petridou (41) are also returning as permanent team members. How can Buschmann be serious about so much comedy power? "I've become mild over time and just let them do it. That makes it easier and allows me to just take myself back."
