The mood in the German startup scene is subdued. The economy, high inflation and rising interest rates are presenting many young companies with major challenges. According to the German Startup Monitor, only fifteen percent of founders rate investors’ willingness to invest as positive. On the other hand, he is convinced: “Technology will not be stopped. We need these solutions.”
Someone who stands for high technology, but also for his controversial behavior, is Elon Musk. It is well known that Thelen is a big Musk fan. The same is true for star investor Cathie Wood. Both consider Musk to be a good person: “He just sometimes lives his things too extreme,” they say. Wood goes further: For her, Musk is “a man of the Renaissance.”
