“Our life is chaos – but it is beautiful!”

Who cooks more often – and who cooks better? Frederick and Annika Lau discussed this at the Nutella 60th birthday event.
That, that or that Nutella? And: with butter or without? Opinions have been divided over these questions for 60 years. There is also no consensus on these questions among celebrity couple Annika (44) and Frederick Lau (34).
For the 60th birthday of the world-famous nut nougat cream from the Italian manufacturer Ferrero, Hamburg’s traditional Alster pavilion was transformed into a pop-up café with an extensive breakfast party. Celebrities and self-confessed Nutella fans were also there: actor Frederick Lau and presenter Annika Lau, who both have three children. And actor couple Tom Beck (44) and Chryssanthi Kavazi (35), who are expecting their second child in the spring.
Frederick Lau: “When my wife is there, I can relax better”
The Lau couple rarely appear in front of the camera together and clearly enjoyed their working day together. During the interviews, the two sat together in a warm embrace. “I’m usually alone a lot in hotel rooms… When my wife is with me, I find peace more easily, I have my home with me, so to speak. I think that’s very nice,” enthuses the actor.
Annika Lau enjoyed the time without children: “Normally, we don’t get together in this relaxed and comfortable way.” Her family life with three kids between the ages of four and nine is chaotic. “Something happens all the time, someone knocks something over, has to go to the toilet…” Her husband agrees: “I wish we were more organized.” Annika Lau also admitted her envy of families “who pull out their weekly calendar on Monday and know exactly when, how, where, eaten, shopped and done.” She admits: “Our lives are chaos – but it’s beautiful!”
Chryssanthi Kavazi: “As a child, I sold Nutella on holiday in Greece”
Actor couple Tom Beck and Chryssanthi Kavazi appeared relaxed despite the impending birth. The “GZSZ” actress came to the event heavily pregnant and will probably be in front of the camera until mid-February, but then wants to concentrate fully on the family. Beck also plans to take a few weeks off around the birth and also has an artistic baby in the making: a new song: “I’ll stay true to my genre, continue to sing in German, but thematically I’ll reinvent myself.” The song is scheduled to be released later this year.
His wife came out as a Nutella fan. Even as a child, the daughter of Greek immigrants took jars of the nut nougat cream with her on vacation in Greece because the product wasn’t available there for a long time. “And then I sold them for chips,” she laughs.
Annika Lau: I can cook well, but Freddy can “sell his food extremely well”
At home, most of the cooking is done by Annika Lau – but her famous husband still gets the enthusiasm: “Freddy only cooks sometimes, but he can sell his food extremely well.” And he’s visibly jealous: “He puts pasta with butter on the table and says: ‘The best pasta in town’ and everyone says: ‘Wow, that’s right! You’re right, Dad!'” With her, however, the most amazing menu is considered taken for granted.
For Nutella’s birthday event, the couples stood together at the stove and served crepes and waffles with the anniversary ingredient to the guests at the event.
