Free for Android & iOS: These pro apps are currently available for free

Twice a week we recommend a mountain of free apps for iOS and Android. We browse apps like AppsFree or sites like mydealz.de to stumble across the apps and mobile games that we recommend here. If you would rather go on the hunt for free applications yourself, simply follow the link to our guide for finding free apps.

With Android, we usually know how long the deals last. That’s not the case on iOS, so you could potentially stumble across apps that are no longer free. If so, please let us know in the comments.

Tip: If you find an app fundamentally exciting, even if you don’t need it at the moment – download it anyway and kick it straight away from your cell phone. You can always install it again for free in the future!

• Crypto Helper (€0.79): A handy cryptographic toolkit. The app encrypts messages and passwords so you can keep them safe even if someone gains access to your phone.
• Bubbles Battery Indicator (€1.29): A simple app that beautifies the charging process. With Bubbles Battery Indicator you choose between a series of floating bubbles. These appear on the screen while you load the smartphone. There is also an alarm when the battery is full or empty – and you can display the charge level as a percentage.
• speed camera radar (€2.09): A database app that allows you to enter warnings and notes about speed cameras, traffic hazards and other indicators on a map. The next time you drive through the area, you will be automatically warned and avoid unnecessary fines. But be careful: speed camera apps are banned in Germany – so it’s best to only use the app when traveling abroad. (in German language)
• Numberwiz (€0.79): With this cool app you can learn useful information about any number, such as its prime factorization, its trigonometric ratios and all roots up to 10. That’s basically where my math knowledge ends, but the app offers some more information.
• strong barbell (€2.99): With this app you can create your own barbell workouts and access HD videos of different exercises with muscle group filters. (in German language)

Free Android Games

• Colonies Pro (€1.89): An intuitive puzzle game that sharpens your cognitive skills and lets you connect similarly shaped or colored dots. The game is ad-free, can be played offline and is also suitable for color blind people!
• Teach Your Monster To Read (€5.99): An award-winning children’s game to help little ones practice reading. It contains three different educational games and is suitable for children from kindergarten to first grade.
• Assassin Lord: Idle RPG (€1.99): Another idle RPG. In this game, you dispatch cartoon-like ninjas to slay monsters while you collect and refine items to defeat bosses.
• Forever Lost: Episode 1 (€3.69): An exciting puzzle adventure! In this game you have to solve the puzzle using point and click mechanisms, find out the truth and escape. The sequel, Forever Lost: Episode 2, is also currently available for free.
• The Enchanted Worlds (€4.19): A puzzle adventure game inspired by MYST. Set in a beautiful world, you must find all the clues, solve puzzles and explore your childhood memories while searching for lost books.

• LetSketch (€1.09): A minimalist sketching app with various brushes, pens and grids to help you create beautiful sketches on the fly. In addition, you can add photo references and take sketching classes too!
• Plant Light Meter (€3.49): With this app you can provide your indoor plants with the right amount of light to keep them healthy and thriving. With Plant Light Meter you keep an eye on the plants and their needs and can calculate the amount of light they get. (in German language)
• Recipes – Kids & Toddlers (€2.29): Unfortunately, the right nutrition for your child is not a school subject. With this app you will receive suitable nutritional recommendations for your children as well as ideas for delicious lunch box recipes.
• IP4K: Phone as IP camera (€4.49): A minimalistic IP camera app that lets you quickly turn iPhone into a surveillance device over local WiFi. (in German language)
• Amps Battery Charging Check (€1.09): With this app you can check the charging capacity of your mobile phone battery and charger. It turns your device into an ampere meter that you can use to test different items in your charging kit and track how much battery your apps are using. (in German language)
• My Working Hours (€1.09): A simple clock app with a widget that allows you to track shifts and breaks and then export them to clients, employers or other devices.

Free iOS Games

• Lost Cities (€2.29): One of the most popular card games for iOS in 2022, Lost Cities is a solitaire-inspired card game with interesting mechanics. If you want to learn more about it, you can find our hands-on here. (in German language)
• Teach Your Monster to Read (€6.49): The same app we recommended for Android above. The game is perfect for teaching preschoolers to read! The iOS version now also features a new Space Blaster game.
• Everybody’s RPG (€1.09): A simple RPG game with idle mechanics. Explore an infinite world with your heroes and join guilds to fight against other players.
• Drop flop! (€1.09): A minimalist pong game that requires nimble fingers. Unlike most pong games, you have to tap the screen just as the ball hits your racquet to catch it.
• Tic Tac Toe in a Circle (€2.29): The title basically says it all. You are playing a more complicated tic tac toe in a circular version. Get ready for a whole new level of rage when playing with friends.
