While Orange is developing an Android TV and Apple TV application to replace its TV decoders, Free has just brought its OQEE to LG televisions.
The manufacturer was in fact the only one where the Free live and replay TV service was not available. It must be said that LG models run on a proprietary operating system, webOS.
The OQEE by Free application has been accessible since April 23, 2024 for all Freebox or Free 5Get plan subscribers with an LG Smart TV running at least webOS 4.0.
In its press release, Free recalls that OQEE provides access to more than 240 live channels, replay services, a maximum of 320 hours of recording for Freebox members and the AVOD OQEE Ciné platform, i.e. 500 films and on-demand series accessible for free against the viewing of a little advertising.
With OQEE, several members of the same family can simultaneously access, on their different screens (LG Smart TV, tablets, smartphones, etc.) the programs of their choice live or in replay. The OQEE by Free application allows a total of up to five simultaneous connections on different screens.
For information, the OQEE by Free application is also available on televisions and multimedia boxes running Android TV 8.0 minimum, Samsung TVs from Tizen OS 4, Amazon Fire TV devices from Fire OS 6 and Apple TV under tvOS 15.
