The marketing of the iPhone 15, which will take place on Friday September 22 in France, could be disrupted by a strike in Apple Stores. Wage demands are at the top of the bill.
This weekend, French Apple Stores will be the scene of a strike that buyers did not see coming, even though the highly anticipated iPhone 15 is due to be launched at that time. The inter-union, which represents the employees of the stores, are demanding a salary increase which management is currently refusing to match.

Friday September 22 and Saturday September 23, the 20 Apple Stores scattered across France will be affected by various strike movements, which will range from a one-hour walkout to a complete 2-day strike. A demonstration is also planned at Place de l’Opéra in Paris, just a few steps from an apple store.
This mobilization is the “fruit”, excuse the play on words, of a vain meeting which took place between management and union representatives, focused mainly on the question of salaries.
The inter-union, bringing together the CGT, the CFDT, the UNSA and Cidre-CFTC, is pushing for a 7% increase in wages. However, management is only proposing an increase of 4.5%, accompanied nevertheless by an increase of 1 euro for each restaurant ticket.

Renaud Chateauroux, CFDT national delegate within the firm, underlines the importance of this strike in the midst of the launch of the iPhone 15. “ Only one event is super important for Apple, it’s the release of a new iPhone », he explains to our colleagues at Franceinfo. “ So this is to show how serious we are in this movement. »
The delegate insists that the employees’ demands are not excessive. “ We tell management that we are not asking for the Moon. We are just asking to be able to live with dignity as employees in the richest company on the planet. »
For his part, the CFDT Apple national delegate Albin Voulfow calls for the social responsibility of the firm: “ Apple has big ambitions to save the world and saving customers with the Apple Watchbut it should do the same thing for social policy and its employees within the Apple Stores. » Will the Cupertino company give in?
