French Cup Final: Stéphanie Frappart, first designated female referee


Stéphanie Frappart will become the first woman to referee a Coupe de France final, after being appointed Thursday for Nice-Nantes, May 7, announced the French Football Federation.

At the Stade de France, the one who had already become the first woman to referee a Ligue 1 match (Amiens-Strasbourg, April 28, 2019), the European Super Cup (Chelsea-Liverpool, August 14, 2019) then a League of Champions (Juventus Turin-Dynamo kyiv, December 2, 2020) will therefore be at the whistle of this unprecedented final between Aiglons and Canaries.

“I am happy and proud of this nomination, she rejoiced. I thank the FFF for the trust it places in me. I particularly appreciate this competition, a major event in French football which mixes amateurs with professionals.

Stéphanie Frappart will be supported by Mikael Berchebru and Benjamin Pages as assistants, and by Willy Delajod as 4th referee. Jérémie Pignard and Hamid Guenaoui will be the video assistant referees.

Note that Stéphanie Frappart has also been selected in recent days among the referees of the Women’s Euro, scheduled for July.
