The TP-Link RE650x is a wall-mounted type wifi repeater. This model is WiFi 6 (802.11ax) compatible for a theoretical maximum cumulative speed of 1800 Mb/s. Its passage in the lab allowed us to see what it really offers in practice.

The TP-Link RE605x repeater offers particularly easy installation and configuration. The speeds are also high-flying with up to 315 Mb/s measured. Only slight defect, the range – despite external antennas – is not higher than that of models with integrated antennas, or even slightly lower.

Very simple to implement, this repeater is also particularly practical with its female electrical outlet and its positioning assistance mode. Offering decent speeds and a convincing Fast Lane acceleration mode, it ultimately only suffers with its signal strength, which is a little less good than that of the superior model.
