The financial services company dedicated to businesses Qonto announced on Thursday the acquisition of the company Regate which will enable it to simplify exchanges between VSEs and SMEs and their accountants.
Qonto offers small and medium-sized businesses as well as self-employed individuals a range of financial management services: payment but also accounting or invoicing. The integration of the product developed by the company Rgate will allow Qonto to propose a specific offer for accounting firmsindicates the company in a press release.
Regate has developed sophisticated financial tools and also this direct sales channel for its accounting services. Thanks to this acquisition we will close the loop with not only a financial tool which is very well aimed at VSE-SMEs on a daily basis but which also makes life easier for their accountantsdeclared to AFP Alexandre Prot, one of the two founders of Qonto.
The Regate team, with more than 100 employees, will join Qonto’s 1,400 employees to form a new department dedicated to financial services for accounting firms, which will be led by Regate co-founders Alexis Renard and Laura Pallier.
Making life easier for VSEs and SMEs
With Qonto, we have a fairly similar vision of the market with the objective of bringing together the banking and financial management to make life easier for VSEs and SMEs and indirectly for accountants, with a European footprint. So it seemed quite logical to us to join forces, Laura Pallier told AFP.
The start-up claims more than 450,000 customers in four countries (France, Germany, Spain, and Italy). Our goal is to be profitable next year and we are very confident (in the possibility) of getting there (…) But we are still in the process of developing a lot, making investments, we are recruiting, assured Mr. Prot.
Launched in July 2017, Qonto joined the very exclusive club of unicorns in 2022, these young technological companies valued at more than a billion dollars, the favor of a massive fundraising of 486 million eurosvaluing the company at 4.4 billion euros.
