Again and again you see stars with fries in hand. You just don’t want to do without the enjoyment of the fried potato sticks and yet you have a slim figure. How do you do it? With this nutrition trick!

They are available in thin, thick, fluted, twisted or latticed form: French fries! Dipped in ketchup or mayo, the crispy potato sticks are part of an extensive fast-food meal and look good not only as a side dish, but also as a main course.

Speaking of figure: French fries are not exactly low in calories. For many fast food giants, the small portion (approx. 150 grams) provides around 430 calories – without dips and other side dishes such as burgers.

And then there are always photos of stars with fries: The models Cara Delevigne and Ann-Kathrin Götze happily snacking their potato sticks and they don’t seem to land on their hips at all. The secret is in the special kind of French fries diet!

French fries diet: celebrities love this trick

French fries have long since ceased to be taboo on many of the stars’ diet plans, because the experts know that if something is forbidden, it becomes really interesting for most. That is why, in addition to complex carbohydrates, lots of vegetables and low-calorie drinks, there are also some fast-food sin on the menu.

French fries, burgers and the like are therefore allowed! However, only if they are eaten at noon and in combination with protein – for example with a steak or fish. The physician and author Detlef Pape explains why this is so good for a slim figure in one of his most popular weight loss books, “Slim in Sleep”.

Insulin food combining is key

Detlef Pape relies on an insulin food combining and enables many people to have a large plate of fries for lunch! The nutritional concept should keep the insulin level in check and avoid strong fluctuations.

The hormone insulin is released mainly after eating foods containing carbohydrates in order to break down blood sugar. This process blocks fat burning and, according to Detlef Pape, also leads to more fat being stored.

Correct food combination is important

The insulin food combining consists of three main meals a day, which are eaten five hours apart. Any kind of snacking is taboo during these five hours – only water, black coffee and unsweetened herbal and fruit teas are allowed. As a result of the five-hour breaks between meals, the insulin level drops to a normal level, which means that digestive and metabolic processes can run smoothly.

In order to further boost fat burning overnight, the last meal of the day is particularly rich in protein – carbohydrates such as potatoes, pasta, rice and bread do not end up on the plate in the evening. Instead meat, fish, eggs or vegetables. In the morning, whole grain bread, unsweetened muesli or fruit provide the energy you need for the day.

Don’t forget your calorie balance!

If you want to treat yourself to your beloved fries from time to time, you can do so with this nutritional concept without worrying about extra kilos. However, it also counts here: At the end of the day, the calorie balance is decisive for whether the body is gaining weight or not. Insulin food combining is not a free ticket for all-you-can-eat French fries.
