(Reuters) – Real Madrid announced on Saturday that they have reached an agreement with AS Monaco to buy midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni, who has signed for six seasons with the Spanish club.

According to media reports, the 22-year-old France international will join the reigning European champions on a transfer fee of €80m plus €20m in bonuses.

Aurélien Tchouaméni should be presented to the club on Tuesday after having passed a medical examination beforehand.

This is the second most lucrative transfer in the history of AS Monaco after that of Kylian Mbappé, who left for Paris Saint-Germain in August 2017 for 180 million euros.

Designated best hope of the League in 2020-21 after being poached from Bordeaux by Monaco for 16 million euros, Tchouaméni also aroused the interest of Liverpool and PSG.
