French Netflix films are a hit! The proof is that there are 3 in the weekly global top 10

In Netflix’s weekly global top 10, three French films have made a place for themselves with a few surprises!

Netflix’s French productions attract subscribers from France but also an international audience, which brings a chauvinistic pride in the success of French films. If we take a look atu weekly top 10 of the most watched non-English language films in the worldwe notice that a recent French feature film has climbed to 4th place!

New products catch the eye…

It’s Nice Girls, the summer police comedy by Noémie Saglio (Connasse and Plan Cœur) which tells the incredible adventures of a pair of cops forced to team up for a high-tension investigation with Alice Taglioni and Stéfi Celma.

They play two intrepid and badass policewomen and are surrounded by Noémie Lvovsky, Baptiste Lecaplain and Antoine Duléry. For its second week of operation, the film has accumulated 2.6 million hours viewed worldwide, which is equivalent to 1.7 million complete viewings.

It also features in the top 10 of nine countries, namely the Bahamas, Austria, Hungary, Luxembourg, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine and New Caledonia.

…and older films continue to do well

But surprise, in the weekly top 10 of the most viewed non-English Netflix films, we find two other French films! Thus, Sous la seine, the shark film by Xavier Gens with Bérénice Bejo and Nassim Lyes continues to be a hit on the platform since it is 7th in the top months after its release on June 5.

The feature film even set a record as it is the most viewed French film on Netflix and the second most viewed non-English language film of all time on the platform with 176.8 million hours viewed.

The third French feature film to appear in the global top 10 of the week is The Wages of Fear, the remake of Julien Leclercq’s cinema classic with Franck Gastambide, Alban Lenoir, Sofiane Zermani and Ana Girardot.

Although it was broadcast several months ago – it was released on March 29 on Netflix – the action film is in the 9th place in the ranking with 1.5 million hours viewed this week. France is in force this week in the top Netflix films.
