French publisher Sekoia.io raises 35 million euros for its development

After the publisher Tehtris which managed to raise 44 million euros last fall, another French cybersecurity company has a lucky hand with investors. The publisher Sekoia.io has just announced the raising of 35 million euros, this Wednesday, May 24, a significant amount which confirms the interest of investors for this industry.

Reorganization

This sum was collected by the Banque des Territoires (a branch of the Caisse des dépôts) and the venture capital companies Bright Pixel Capital, Omnes Capital, Seventure and BNP Paribas Developpement. A previous fundraising in 2020 had already enabled the company to obtain 10 million euros for its development.

The fundraising follows a reorganization of the company’s activities, announced last year. A new legal structure, Own security, has indeed been created. This company is intended to carry the service activities of the publisher, which launched in 2008 on the consulting market, such as incident response or threat intelligence.

International

This new funding round of 35 million euros should enable Sekoia.io, which has just unveiled its analyzes of Bluenoroff’s infrastructure, for example, to continue with “its expansion and its international development”. The company, which has around 100 employees, hopes to become a European leader with its platform for detecting and responding to cyber threats.

In this regard, Sekoia.io joined forces in October 2021 with four other companies, HarfangLab, Pradeo, Glimps and Vade by launching a joint offer. Their “European-oriented” cybersecurity solutions platform must, these companies explained, provide “a concrete and immediate response to strong market simplification and unification needs”.
