Available on Disney+, the thriller “Fresh” depicts a romantic date that goes wrong. To land his role, actor Sebastian Stan auditioned like no other. Check out the video.
Known to the general public for his role as Bucky in Captain America, Sebastian Stan has never hidden his taste for extreme characters. He proved it in Me, Tonya, as a violent boyfriend facing a metamorphosed Margot Robbie, and more recently in the Pam & Tommy series, in which he plays Mötley Crüe drummer, Tommy Lee. In Fresh, he goes even further and lends his features to Steve, a seemingly ideal man, who turns out to be a serial killer.
Alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, he lets his murderous impulses escape between two charming smiles. To convince director Mimi Cave, Sebastian Stan filmed himself in the middle of his kitchen dancing to the rhythm of a famous eighties hit.
The video takes another turn when the star, completely unleashed, grabs a butcher’s knife. The result is as fun as it is scary.

To prepare for his role, Sebastian Stan surrounded himself with a psychiatrist to study the profiles of serial killers. In an interview with AlloCiné, the actor reveals, amused: “She gave me some advice, and only one person commented to me: he had to clean his hands, constantly. That’s why there are lotions everywhere in the film.”
