Freshly roasted every day: This is how Stefan Raab's new late night show on TVNow

"Daily freshly roasted" will soon be launched on TVNow with a fresh concept. Stefan Raab is also involved in the new late night show.

Mediengruppe RTL is launching a new late night show. From November 16, "Freshly Roasted Daily" will be shown on the in-house streaming service TVNow. Not only is the concept unusual, entertainer Stefan Raab (54), who is particularly known for ProSieben formats such as "TV total" and "Schlag den Raab", is also involved.

As early as July it was announced that Raab would be producing a late night show for TVNow. "I've been grumbling about other people's programs for 20 years. Now I've found that grumbling is no use, I have to help personally," the entertainer explained at the time.

This is how "freshly roasted every day" works

Changing celebrity hosts have to prove themselves as moderators on the show. According to the press release, this format is "an end (…) with the shallow ramblings". Instead, the show "roasts" what it takes. A mixture of "roast" and classic late-night show is to be created. A "roast" is an event at which – mostly very mocking – jokes are made at the expense of a certain person.

"Freshly roasted daily" should therefore have all the elements of a classic late-night format – including a band, studio activities, talks on current topics and prominent guests. In addition to the moderator, there will also be a roaster. One tries to moderate as normal, the other roasts off and then evaluates the moderator. The show will be broadcast on TVNow from November 16, 2020 at 8:15 p.m. The recordings for this start on November 11th.
