At the end of the year, licensee Michael Heinritzi closed the branch in Salzburg’s most famous street. Economic reasons are said to be decisive for this. During the corona crisis, Heinritzi voluntarily closed the downtown branch of the US giant for a long time. “It doesn’t make sense at the moment, we don’t have any guests,” he told the “Krone” at the time. At that time, he still firmly denied that the McDonald’s branch in Getreidegasse would be permanently closed. Almost three years later, everything is different. According to reports, Heinritzi is likely to give up the McDonald’s license for the whole of Salzburg.
