The worlds of film and television were not obvious to Lisa Kudrow in her youth. Indeed, after studying in California and then in New York City, she obtained a degree in biology and returned to Los Angeles, to follow the path of her father Lee Kudrow, a doctor.
It was only towards the end of the 1980s that she felt the urge to become an actress when she discovered one of her brother’s friends on stage, enrolling in improvisation lessons before obtaining her diploma and join the famous troupe The Groudlings.
After playing in a few plays and TV series in the early 90s, she landed the role of Phoebe in the Friends series, and was then offered more substantial roles in the following years.
She will thus have the opportunity to share the poster with Robert De Niro in Mafia Blues in 1999, with Hilary Swank in PS I Love You in 2007, or with Emma Stone in Easy A in 2010. In the following years, Lisa Kudrow will embark on the writing and production of various series such as Mon comeback and Web Therapy.
She will obtain numerous prizes during her career for her various series, being notably rewarded alongside her five companions from Friends by the Screen Actors Guild Award for best cast in a comedy series in 1995.
