After several postponements, filming for the “Friends” reunion can finally begin. The starting shot should be given next week.

Fans of the cult series “Friends” can finally breathe a sigh of relief: The shooting for the long-awaited reunion of the main actors around Jennifer Aniston (52) will begin in the coming week. The industry magazine reports “The Hollywood Reporter”.

According to internal sources, the show for the streaming provider HBO Max will be shot in the week of April 5th. The special will feature Aniston, Courteney Cox (56), Lisa Kudrow (57), Matt LeBlanc (53), Matthew Perry (51) and David Schwimmer (54) along with the creators of the show, Marta Kauffman (64) and David Crane (63), remembering the popular series and reviewing their time on the set.

Short reunion with the cult characters

David Schwimmer recently revealed in an interview with British presenter Graham Norton (57) in his show “The Graham Norton Show”that the six actors will not be seen in their cult roles but as themselves for most of the special. When asked whether he would appear as Ross or David, Schwimmer replied: “I will be David. There is no script and we do not play our characters. We are all ourselves.” He also revealed: “There will be a part that I don’t want to anticipate, but we will all read something together.”

It is not yet known when the “Friends” special will be shown. However, it is expected for around a year after the originally planned date – May 27, 2020. The Reunion was supposed to be shot in March of last year, but the shooting had to be postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic.
