Friends: Reunion special is now being filmed

The shooting of the "Friends" reunion special can apparently begin. However, there are strict rules for production.

The fans are eagerly awaiting this reunion: filming for the TV comeback of "Friends" is scheduled to begin in August. At least that's what "The Mirror" reports. So far, there is little information about the planned HBO Max Special for the cult sitcom, in which all six leading actors, Jennifer Aniston (51), Courteney Cox (56), Lisa Kudrow (56), Matt LeBlanc (52), Matthew Perry (50) and David Schwimmer (53), should also be part of the party.

As the "The Mirror" says, the actors must adhere to strict rules because of the coronavirus pandemic. There should also be no live audience. The show should therefore be a mixture of interviews and short scenes. The newspaper quotes an alleged insider: "Everyone really hopes that production and filming can start next month. It's in full swing at the moment, but there will be very strict guidelines, and that includes: no live audience." This is "a heavy blow", since the responsible "absolutely wanted to create an authentic atmosphere", according to the anonymous source.

Quarantined actor

Before the filming, the report says that all actors should be tested on Covid-19 and then go into isolation. It is filmed in California. Marta Kauffman (63), who is also responsible for the show, said "The Wrap": "If everything is OK and we follow all the rules, we can still do a good show." The reunion special was scheduled to run in May, but had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic.
