Actor Fritz Wepper can breathe a sigh of relief and with him his family, friends and fans. “The cancer is defeated,” he announces.

Actor Fritz Wepper (80) has wonderful news for his family, friends and fans: “The cancer has been defeated, and the metastases are also declining thanks to infusions. I am very grateful to God, I also pray every day,” he explains in an interview with the magazine “Bunte” at Tegernsee.

Regarding his current condition, he says: “I feel good physically and mentally. My wife and children have given me so much strength. Their love saved me.” At the moment he is “still dependent on a wheelchair”, but he is trying to be able to walk again himself.

Surgery, intensive care unit, rehab

At the beginning of 2021, Fritz Wepper had to undergo tumor surgery, followed by five months in intensive care. In the summer he came to the rehabilitation clinic at Lake Tegernsee near Munich. At the end of November, his wife Susanne Kellermann (47) expressed her sorrow about the Corona-related ban on visits: “It is sad that it has come to the point again that sick and old people cannot see their relatives. It is a catastrophe that could have been prevented,” said the director of the “Bild” newspaper. Fritz Wepper was able to leave the hospital in December, as reported by the “Bunte”.

Fritz Wepper and Susanne Kellermann have been married since 2020, but have been together on/off for much longer. The two have a daughter together who was born in 2011. Daughter Sophie Wepper (40) comes from his first marriage (1979-2019) to Angela von Morgen (1942-2019).
