Manufacturer AVM provides its routers with various free apps – users can also access the functions of the FritzBox via cell phone. For example, while the “FritzApp WLAN” displays wireless networks in the area and measures the WLAN speed, remote access to the home network can be set up with the “MyFritzApp”. The “FritzApp Smart Home” is used to switch AVM’s sockets and thermostats. And the “FritzApp TV” sends unencrypted television programs from a cable FritzBox with DVB-C streaming to smartphones and tablets. A fresh version of the Android app FritzApp Fon is currently available: the application turns cell phones into landline phones. The update brings these innovations.
