FritzBox update: Other turbo routers will receive the current version

A number of FritzBox routers have already made the leap to FritzOS 7.28. Many FritzBox owners have been able to look forward to FritzOS 7.29 for some time now – more devices are now being added.

After a number of devices had already been equipped with FritzOS 7.28 and 7.29 in the past few weeks, five other devices have received the update to the 7.29 version in the past few weeks. According to AVM, users can look forward to a total of six new features that can be particularly useful in the home office.

In addition, as always, the new update improves a lot of security functions and fixes errors, which is why AVM advises users to install the update if the automatic update function is deactivated.

With FritzOS 7.28, among other things, the recently discovered FragAttack vulnerability was closed in the devices listed.

When asked by CHIP, AVM has not yet revealed whether older FritzOS versions also close this security gap.

We present the new features in the following section.
