From animal rights activists – After a skeleton was found in a trap: charges against hunters

The “Krone” report about a live trap in a forest in Diersbach, where a skeleton – presumably of a marten – was found, caused waves. As reported, cat owner Johanna W. (34) discovered three traps in the neighboring forest while searching for her missing “Lilly”, one of which – it was closed – contained the animal remains. Michaela Lehner, lawyer for the Tierschutz Austria association, is outraged: “This marten starved and died of thirst in agony – one of the most terrible ways to die because it takes a very long time. Anyone who has never seen anything like this can hardly imagine the martyrdom an animal goes through that is not redeemed.”
