What do “Home Alone” and “Terminator 2” have in common? They are now considered American art. 25 classic films made it to the National Library in Washington this year.

The story is world famous and is now officially art worthy of protection: “Kevin – Home Alone” made the actor Macaulay Culkin (43) a superstar.

At Christmas time, the film is a tradition in many households. Now it has been included in the official film register of the USA along with other Hollywood classics.

A total of 25 films were selected because of their cultural, historical and artistic significance for US film art, according to a statement from the National Library in Washington. These include “Terminator 2 – Judgment Day” and “12 Years a Slave”.

It was said that 6,875 films were suggested by the population. 875 films have now been added to the Library of Congress register, founded in 1989.
