From December 11, 2022, the S45 rapid transit line in Vienna will run at shorter intervals on weekends and public holidays. Sets of the so-called suburban line will then run every ten minutes during the day.
This will increase performance by around 90,000 train kilometers per year. In the previous 15-minute cycle, on weekends there was only service at the end of the day before around 7:30 a.m. and after 8:30 p.m. “Increase in quality in public transport” further upgrades this fast connection line in the west of Vienna,” said Vienna City Councilor Peter Hanke (SPÖ). The expansion of the offer on the suburban line is an important step in the expansion of public transport in Vienna. The new S45 timetables are already available in the VOR-AnachB app and in the ÖBB timetable information.
