From Giorgo Moroder to Pharell Williams, spotlight on tinted glasses

Perfect outsiders of the preppy style, which flies from the righteousness of the military package to its pilot glasses, sunglasses with sunglasses open a new era of fashion and novelty as an expression of its subjectivity. The end of the illusions of the 1970s and the rise of hedonistic individualism in fact left the field open to more unbridled styles.

It is in this festive context, somewhere between David Bowie’s red-haired period and the disco music of Giorgio Moroder, that the tinted glasses make a remarkable first entry. Apparitions in a glittery fashion, they joined the dissent in the 1980s. And, with a film like Scarface, become a central accessory of a bis aesthetic.
