Since 2024, ServusTV has only been broadcasting its programs in Austria. The German sister channel was discontinued at the turn of the year, but the online offer ServusTV On is still available. Some ServusTV formats were also taken over by the new channel DF1. But what about the broadcaster’s sports rights? After all, ServusTV has made a name for itself in Germany, among other things, by broadcasting MotoGP and selected DEL games.
Some of the transmissions are also taken over by DF1. One game from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) can still be seen here every week. It cannot be ruled out that the station will take over additional licenses from ServusTV. For example, in a trailer at the start of the broadcast, scenes from the ATP Tour, which was previously shown on ServusTV, could be seen. However, there is still nothing about this in the station’s program schedule.
DEL remains, MotoGP changes channel
It is also unclear what will happen next with the World Rally Championship and the Superbike World Championship. As of now, these will probably only be seen in the stream on Servus TV On in this country. At least you will be able to watch some of the races from the Superbike World Championship on Eurosport 1 on free TV.
MotoGP, on the other hand, has found a new home. In the future, you will only see the motorcycle world championship in this country on pay TV on Sky.
A lot will change for sports fans in 2024, and not just because of the end of ServusTV. Other sports and tournaments also change channels due to new contracts.
