It is there, Donald Trump’s widely advertised and in-house news platform. Even if critics call it a website.

So now it is there, Donald Trump’s (74) own news platform, which the ex-US president announced on Twitter and Facebook after he was kicked out. She listens to the name “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” and at first glance it does indeed have a lot in common with the short message service Twitter.

A statesmanlike profile picture shows Trump signing important documents, the text underneath suggests that he still believes he is the incumbent president: “You want to be notified when the president writes a message?” – Then subscribe right away!

Malice on the original platform

Even in the optical Twitter offshoot, Trump is living in his very own world again. His posts can not (yet) be commented on there, but as expected, the malice on the original platform was not long in coming.

With Trump’s in-house “communication platform” it is a website, it is revealed with a spoiler warning. Another user writes: “So it’s basically a blog for someone whose mind is only 280 characters long.”

The first published entry is dated March 24th, but the site has only just been launched – probably not entirely by chance. On Wednesday (May 5), Facebook will most likely announce that Trump’s account will remain blocked.

Together with Twitter, the 45th President of the United States was also banned there after he had allegedly incited news that led to the violent storming of the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021, in which five people died.
