Government financial support for electronic repairs is taking place from this Thursday, December 15.
And this help will benefit many everyday devices. By 2025, 68 household electrical appliances will be affected by these repair bonuses.
20% of the repair price covered
The amount of the reduction will obviously not be the same for each device, since the State wants it to represent ” approximately 20% of the total amount of the repair price found “. Thus, it will be 15 euros for a portioned coffee machine (pod and capsule), a sports device or an electric lawn mower, while it can go up to 25 euros for a mobile phone or a dishwasher.
Some devices also see their bonus conditional on a trigger threshold. These are computers (desktops, laptops or all-in-ones), printers, scanners and monitors. Thus, to obtain the 45 euros bonus intended to finance the repair of your computer, the invoice must exceed the threshold of 180 euros.
Bonuses provided by a fund of 410 million euros
The list of the first 31 devices covered by the discount can be found here. It will increase each year until it reaches the target of 68 families of equipment covered in 2025. However, to be entitled to this boost from the State, you will have to call on one of the first 500 repairers with the QualiRépar label. and drop off devices that are no longer under warranty. The discount will be applied directly to the invoice to be paid.
It is the repair fund provided for by the Circular Economy Law of early 2020, with a budget of 410 million euros over 6 years and financed by manufacturers, which will bear the costs of the operation. The objective is to increase by 2027 the number of electrical and electronic devices repaired each year in France from 10 to 12 million. And the pool is wide. Currently, 90% of damaged equipment is not brought to a repairer.
