Frown lines? That helps against the evil eye!

It is probably the most annoying of all the wrinkles that one can accumulate in the course of one's life: the frown line. Our author wants to know what can be done about it.

"You always look angry" – a sentence I hate. No, I don't look angry, neither am I, but unfortunately this furrow between my eyebrows makes me look as if I wanted to kill in the morning after getting up: The frown line makes my life difficult. I urgently have to do something about this, because unfortunately I failed miserably when I tried to simply stop moving my face. But when it is very bright – and it is well known that it is more often in summer – the sun makes my face wrinkle. The sunglasses don't help either, and no matter how often I rub my frown lines to iron them away: They're there and getting deeper and deeper and deeper.

What exactly is the frown line?

The frown line feels quite comfortable between thinker's lines and crow's feet. By the way, medically correct, the steep fold between the eyebrows is called the glabellar fold, which I think sounds disproportionately pretty. It arises, oh miracle, when we knit our eyebrows together. At a young age, when our skin is still elastic and full of resilience, the area smooths out again after a short time. Unfortunately, with increasing age we can no longer rely on it and the frown lines that are hated by everyone develop. But does botox really help now?

Frown lines: you can do that about it

Relax

When do we frown or knit our eyebrows? Right when we are tense and stressed. A particularly strong expression of frown lines is only caused by cramped facial muscles. Help here:

  • much sleep
  • yoga
  • Autogenic training
  • a relaxing bath
  • Breathing and meditation exercises

Stimulate

Microdermabrasion stimulates cell formation and can also significantly improve the appearance of the frown lines, as the beautician removes the upper layers of the skin with small crystals. In addition to anti-wrinkle treatment, this procedure is also used for pigmentation disorders, calloused areas of the skin and stretch marks. It should be done about every eight weeks for best results

Creams

Environmental pollution has a major impact on our skin. That is why it is important to support regeneration and not just with good creams, ampoules and serums: a peeling once a week and a face mask regularly free the skin from cornifications and provide it with an extra helping of moisture. Our skin is always happy about high-quality care without excessive fragrances and drying alcohols and, in the best case, thanks with fewer wrinkles. Beauty products can usually also help with the initial frown lines. For example, biotulin – better known as bio botox. The active ingredient has numbing properties and can stop wrinkles between the eyes before they start.

Sun protection

Unfortunately, the biggest enemy for our skin is the sun. UVA and UVB radiation in particular can cause sunburn and premature skin aging – both of which are unhealthy and cause wrinkles. To protect yourself from frown lines, day care with a sun protection factor of at least 30 is mandatory – not only in summer but at any time of the year, and by the way, even when it's cloudy.

Hyaluronic acid and botox

Is the frown line already digging deep into your skin? Creams are no longer useful? Then only the injection with hyaluronic acid or botox will help. The minimally invasive beauty treatment with hyaluronic acid is unfortunately not exactly cheap and has to be repeated several times depending on the severity of the forehead wrinkles. Nevertheless, doctors recommend this rather than conventional Botox in order not to completely paralyze facial expressions.
