Don’t worry, just because new blocks are coming doesn’t mean you’ll have to change your PC power supply.
The introduction of a new power connector for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards – and possibly AMD RNDA 3 – had left some doubts, but an adapter can support even the most powerful cards with an “old feed “.
Deliver up to 600 Watts for the GPU
A possibility that does not dampen the enthusiasm of power supply manufacturers, who are beginning to introduce their products to the ATX 3.0 standard. This is now the case for one of the leaders in the category, FSP.

Imagined by Intel, the ATX 3.0 will have experienced a little delay. Most manufacturers have experienced relative difficulties in mastering the new multi-rail design, which of course aims to meet the higher power demand of the latest components on the market.
Obviously, everyone is thinking here of future Raptor Lake processors from Intel as well as the Ryzen 7000 from its longtime competitor. In reality, it is mainly the graphics cards – GeForce RTX 4000 and Radeon RX 7000 – which will carry this need for power.
Titanium, Platinum and Gold blocks
Power supplies stamped ATX 3.0 are designed in compliance with PCI Express Gen 5 and SFX12V V4.0. More trivially, they are also distinguished by this 12VHPWR power connector capable of delivering a maximum of 600 Watts to the graphics card.
At FSP, this translates into a new and very complete range of no less than six models. Petit Poucet in the catalog, the DAGGER Pro unit is in SFX format, but delivers despite 850 or 1,000 Watts and will be distributed from the fourth quarter of 2022, at the same time as the Hydro Ti Pro which stands out for its Titanium certification for efficiency unmatched.
Less efficient, but more powerful, the Hydro PTM Pro and Hydro PTM X Pro are Platinum and come in 850, 1000 and 1200W variants with prices ranging from $209.9 to $289.9. More “modest”, the Hydro G Pro and Hydro GT Pro must be satisfied with a Gold certification for 850 or 1000W and prices ranging from 149.90 to 189.90 dollars.
