Fubar: Arnold Schwarzenegger and the new Terminator reunited in the Netflix series

On the occasion of the Netflix series “Fubar”, Arnold Schwarzenegger was able to give the answer to a former interpreter of the Terminator franchise!

A Terminator can sometimes hide another. Former 80s action movie superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his big debut as a lead actor in a TV series this week with Fubar, the new Netflix original production!

In this action comedy, Schwarzy plays a secret CIA agent, whose repeated missions and various lies have broken his marriage. As retirement approaches, during which he hopes to be able to win back his ex-wife, the latter embarks on a final mission. There, his path crosses that of… his own daughter, herself a spy operating for the American government.

During an interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that this series was designed to replicate the action-comedy tone of his cult film True Lies. But many nods to the career of the former governor of California have also been inserted into the ten episodes of the program, starting with references to the Terminator films.

Not Schwarzenegger’s favorite Terminator

Turbar also allowed the iconic interpreter of the T-800 in the SF franchise to cross paths with another interpreter from the saga. The villain of the series is indeed embodied by Gabriel Luna, seen recently in The Last of Us, who played the main antagonist of the latest installment of the license, Terminator: Dark Fate.

Gabriel Luna and Arnold Schwarzenegger face to face in Terminator: Dark Fate

Although the 75-year-old Austrian-American actor recently admitted that he does not hold this feature film in his heart, this sixth opus by Tim Miller was nevertheless designed as a semi-reboot of the franchise, and a direct sequel to Terminator 2. by James Cameron (thus erasing from the official chronology, the previous sequels produced).

This new component had made it possible to oppose this new type of Terminator to the old model embodied by the T-800. Remained in our time after having accomplished his mission (to kill John Connor), the latter began a path of redemption by helping Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). The film thus ended with the sacrifice of Arnold Schwarzenegger to overcome this new enemy.

This reunion will certainly not have the same flavor as an appearance of Linda HamiltonRobert Patrick or even Michael Biehn in the series, but there is no doubt that fans of the Terminator saga will appreciate seeing these two actors from the franchise play the role again in Fubar!

The Fubar series with Arnold Schwarzenegger is available now on Netflix.
