Coach Korkut yells at his Hertha stars

Hertha BSC actually has (excessively) big ambitions, but due to the downturn in the Bundesliga, they currently have their backs to the wall. Sports director Fredi Bobic called on the entire team before the important relegation duel at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Tayfun Korkut gathered the crisis professionals from Hertha BSC and started an emotional incendiary speech. “Fuck me! The situation for Korkut was already uncomfortable last Saturday after the poor performance in the 4-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt – fans in the Olympic Stadium chanted “Korkut out!”. But for Bobic, who initially did not speak publicly afterwards, dismissal was never an option. He defended the coach, who only replaced Pal Dardai in November, although he has an average of 0.75 points in his twelve league games so far and Hertha are just one point ahead of penultimate VfB Stuttgart.

According to Bobic, “the tablecloth was not cut” between the coach and the team, he rather criticized the players. After the Frankfurt game, which left Bobic “terrified”, there was a crisis talk with the team. “The players also recognized in this dialogue that they are the problem,” he said. Bobic emphasized that Tayfun Korkut’s personnel had nothing to do with the early departure of sports director Arne Friedrich, who drew attention on Monday evening. “Other internal things played the role,” said Bobic. Bobic now announced that he wanted “to have more focus on the team and draw that more towards me”.
