The aid put in place by the government in 2022 to reduce the price of petrol ended on 1er January. First of 0.30 euro per liter of fuel, this “rebate” had been lowered to 0.10 euro in mid-November. Since then, the price at the pump has increased significantly, close to 2 euros per litre.
To replace this aid, a fuel allowance of 100 euros was introduced at the beginning of the year. Paid in one go, it is aimed at the 10 million French people whose reference tax income was less than 14,700 euros in 2021.
