“It is a question of supplying in particular the Île-de-France and the Centre-Val de Loire, where the situation is tense and with the approach of the Easter weekend and the school holidays”, indicated the cabinet. of the Minister for Energy Transition.

The government has decided to requisition new strikers in the oil industry in order to stem fuel shortages, particularly in Île-de-France, a few days before the Easter weekend, we learned on Tuesday from the Ministry of Energy Transition. Requisitions are underway, in particular at the TotalEnergies refinery in Gonfreville-l’Orcher (Seine-Maritime), the largest in France, “which has been shipping fuel in the Le Havre-Paris pipeline to Île-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire since yesterday morning (Monday), thanks to the requisition of a few people per shift (3 to 4 maximum)“, indicated the ministry to the AFP.

He added that the requisitions taken on March 29 for the oil depot of the SFDM, in Loire-Atlantique, are still in force, making it possible to ship fuel to Pays-de-la-Loire, Île-de- France, Centre-Val de Loire and Eastern France via the Donges-Melun-Metz pipeline, where one employee per shift is requisitioned.

Concerning the Normandy refinery, the CGT Chimie affirmed that requisitions were “effectivefrom Monday to Thursday, implicitly confirming a resumption of shipments. “It is a question of supplying in particular the Île-de-France and the Centre-Val de Loire, where the situation is tense and with the approach of the Easter weekend and the school holidays“, told AFP the cabinet of Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Energy Transition.

Towards an improvement?

The situation remains very complicated in the service stations of Île-de-France even if it seems slightly better than Monday, according to public data analyzed by Fig Data. In the Val-de-Marne, nearly one out of two stations is partially (39.8%) or completely (9.6%) out of service. Same thing in the capital, where 37.5% of pump attendants report shortages. A similar figure in Hauts-de-Seine (52.6%) or in Essonne (42.9%). At the national level, 10.5% of service stations at the national level did not have, Monday at 1 p.m., either gasoline (SP98, SP95, E10) or diesel.

The tankers’ union said on Monday evening that it was counting on a “clear improvement” in the situation at service stations in Île-de-France, despite persistent strike movements against the pension reform in certain refineries, such as refineries. TotalEnergies in Gonfreville and Donges (Loire-Atlantique) and the Esso-ExxonMobil refinery in Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon (Seine-Maritime).

An observation more or less shared by Francis Pousse, representative of service stations, who “hope that the situation in Île-de-France will improve“. Francis Pousse warns, however, that it is impossible for us to return to a supply level for stations close to 0 at the end of the week. “If we find in Paris and around a level of shortage close to the national average, which is currently around 11%, it will already be very good“, he insisted.
