On April 1, players expected to spend a day like any other on Warzone, but that was without counting on the developers who had every intention of playing a trick on their community, a successful bet.
While the kickoff of Warzone Pacific Season 2, with its many fixes, was supposed to improve the state of the battle royale, to the chagrin of players, the reality was quite different.
Between visibility issues, the ever-growing list of bugs, not to mention the ubiquity of cheaters, daily life for Warzone players continued to be hell on earth. So much so that Activision ended up making its mea culpa.
April Fool’s Day hasn’t been your average day at all for Warzone players.
Now the developers seem to have decided to laugh it off, making fun of the state of their battle royale where, as everyone knows, anything can happen.
When March came to an end, they took this golden opportunity to introduce some April Fools into the battle royale. This double-edged initiative seems to have hit the mark, with a number of players praising the developers for this feat.
Warzone players thank the devs for their April Fools
On Reddit, multiple voices were raised to show how incredible these April Fools were, bringing new life to the battle royale.
By far one of the most popular pranks is the change to the Thermite Grenade, which instead of sticking to the enemy, knocks them into the sky.
“For real, man. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in a battle royale. Those hot drops without the parachute were so chaotic”said a player.
Throughout this special day, social media was filled with people posting clips to show off the jokes happening on Warzone.
Although it was only a one-day event, it was more successful than ever. As a result, developers will more than ever be expected at the turn of the next events.
