Full HD gaming monitor with 32 inches in the test: the inexpensive AOC C32G3AE

AOC’s C32G3AE is an inexpensive alternative for gamers who prefer full HD resolution (1080p) on a large panel. In our test, the gaming monitor with a curved screen shows what it can do.

The curved monitor of the 31.5-inch model has a very narrow curvature of only 1000R and thus supports immersion into the game particularly well. The maximum frame rate of 165 Hertz is sufficient to enjoy even high-speed racing simulations and responsive shooters in high quality.

The synchronization of the frame rate with the graphics card runs via Freesync Premium and is therefore limited to AMD models. The VA panel of the AOC C32G3AE with 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p) and response times of 1 millisecond (MPRT) or 4 ms (GtG) is integrated in a frameless housing and is therefore also well suited for multi-monitor gaming.

Overall, the general image quality of the

at an intermediate level. For gaming, the brightness could be on a higher level, which is particularly noticeable in darker game scenes. On the other hand, we rate the rich contrast, the neutral color rendering and the very homogeneous illumination across the entire panel positively.

Comparison test: the best WQHD gaming monitors (1440p)

Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the gaming performance. The curved monitor takes care of all challenges flawlessly with a responsive and fluid image reproduction up to the maximum frame rate of 165 Hertz.

Furnishing

the

has the usual two HDMI interfaces and a display port access with modern gaming monitors, whereby cables for both interfaces are included in the package. What is missing, however, are USB ports and LED light strips, which AOC does without for price reasons. The two integrated stereo speakers only deliver a poor sound.

handling

In order to keep the price low, AOC also dispenses with height adjustability, which is particularly important for optimal adaptation to the location. In addition, the screen cannot be rotated on its stable base. The on-screen menu offers various special settings for gaming such as game presets, crosshairs, FPS, Racing and RTS. The control buttons on the bottom right of the case are too small to be used comfortably. Better to download the free G-Menu software from the AOC website and configure the AOC C32G3AE using the PC.

Power consumption

Due to the only average maximum brightness, the power consumption during operation is also kept within limits – the gaming monitor requires just under 35 watts of energy. In standby mode, consumption drops to a low 0.4 watts.
