Homeworld 3 marks the return of the space strategy franchise to PC. To wait, Gearbox takes stock of the required configurations.
Let’s acknowledge that we did not expect this communication at this point in the game’s development. Homeworld 3 is certainly an anticipated title, but it should not be released before February 2024 if Steam is to be believed.
If we are to believe Steam, because Gearbox – publisher of the project – even only speaks of “2024” in its message to discuss the publication of the different reference configurations.
RTX 2000 and RX 6000 as a bare minimum
Yes, several weeks (months?) before the release of the strategy game, Gearbox and its partner Blackbird already seem sufficiently confident to tell us the outlines of the necessary machines.
Note that unlike many publishers, Gearbox does not set aside Intel ARC graphics cards, which appear in the configuration details like their AMD or NVIDIA counterparts.

Activation of ray tracing and disappearance of Intel ARC
From the ultra configuration – without there being any question of ray tracing yet – Intel ARC graphics cards are no longer recommended by Gearbox which, logically, does the same when ray tracing enters the dance. For the rest, the increase in requirements is not that huge… well, a little anyway if we look at the last one.
