It’s been a long time since Fumito Ueda and genDesign were walled in silence. The development of a new project started years ago, but the studio has not given any sign of life since its wishes for the year 2021, in other words, a long time. The wait is likely to continue in 2023 but the creator of ICOs, Shadow of the Colossus or even of The Last Guardian hopes to be able to tell us more about his new work in the coming year.
Finally an announcement next year?
Don’t necessarily wait for the release of Fumito Ueda’s next game in 2023, but still hope for some news from him. In any case, this is what Ueda himself hopes for when he talks about his plans for 2023 in the traditional end-of-year greetings from Japanese developers (reported by Gematsu):
” The whole genDesign studio is working hard to finally be able to announce something [en 2023]so keep supporting us. »
In other words, nothing is guaranteed but it’s still better than the radio silence that the studio has shown in recent years. All that remains is to cross our fingers very hard to hope to know more concretely what Ueda and its teams are working on.
