Fun off-road guaranteed: E-mountain bike with good equipment and a powerful motor from Lidl

If you’re looking for an e-mountain bike so you can have fun off-road, you shouldn’t choose a model that’s too cheap. Although there are already new e-bikes starting at around 900 euros, they usually have very simple components installed that are hardly suitable for the terrain. In addition, performance and battery capacity often fall by the wayside.

There is a much better alternative from Fischer in Lidl’s online shop, which is still inexpensive and costs less than 2,000 euros. The 29-inch wheel currently costs just under 1,990 euros at the discounter. The mid-engine from Brose delivers an impressive 90 Newton meters of torque and is therefore very powerful – even steep climbs are no problem for you.

The battery is integrated into the frame and has a capacity of 504 watt hours. This puts it in the middle of the range compared to high-quality current bikes, which are already around 700 watt hours. However, the battery is not located on the down tube like on cheaper bikes, but is integrated into the frame – looks better and protects against dirt. The range is up to 120 kilometers per support level.

The Rockshox suspension fork offers a travel of 100 millimeters. The model is the “Judy”, which costs around 160 to 200 euros individually. The manufacturer Rockshox is one of the leading manufacturers in the field.

SRAM gears and disc brakes

The 12-speed gears come from SRAM, the hydraulic disc brakes from Clarks. The saddle comes from Ergon, a manufacturer specializing in ergonomic riding. Overall, the Lidl e-mountain bike is rock solid. The components used are mainly branded products, even if they are more entry-level.

However, it is appropriate for the price. If you are looking for higher quality components, the price can quickly reach over 4,000 euros. Fischer’s bike is ideal for tours, even off-road. Even small trails shouldn’t be a problem for the bike at all, as the manufacturer promises a “robust chassis for rough off-road passages”.

Fischer’s e-mountain bike costs 1,986.05 euros at Lidl, while its discounter competitor Aldi charges 2,199 euros. The recommended retail price is significantly higher at 2,899 euros. So the offer is impressive.
