A funeral in his image. As Guy Marchand had wished during his lifetime, his funeral were – also – celebrated with joy this Wednesday, December 27. The margins of the ceremony which was held in the Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church, in Mollégès (Bouches-du-Rhône), the family and friends of the actor organized A “joyful and open gathering for people wishing to pay homage to him“, indicated his children, Ludivine and Jules. After attending the religious ceremony, Guy Marchand’s entourage therefore found at the Cours bar, to try to continue the day on a musical and joyful note.
According to information reported by The Parisian, the tribute to Guy Marchand took place “sheltered by the fences of the bar’s garden“. Around the establishment, numerous wreaths of flowers, including those of the Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak, were laid, our colleagues clarified. In the town of Mollèges, where the deceased actor had been based for around ten years, Guy Marchand left a lasting memory for residents. “He was always accessible, when people turned on him, he didn’t get offended and accepted the photos“, confides Michèle, owner of Mas du Capoun, where the interpreter of Nestor Burma loved coming to taste the specialties. “It was someone very good, totally integrated into the village. Obviously the South suited him well“, we can still read in the columns of Le Parisien. There is no doubt that the Mollégeois will not forget Guy Marchand any time soon…

Guy Marchand “weakened”: his last trying months
He is an emblematic French artist who passed away on December 15, 2023. Guy Marchand died at the age of 86let his children, Jules and Ludivine, knowAFP. The actor “passed away peacefully” has “Cavaillon hospital”, in Vaucluse. He therefore leaves behind two children, from his first marriage to Béatrice Chatelier, but also his second wife, Adelina, 40 years his junior. Weakened for several years, by gallbladder problems and a slight “shortness of breath”as he confided in the columns of Parisian in 2021, the last months of Guy Marchand’s life would have been very trying.
In an article published by The Geneva Tribune in April 2022, the journalist already affirmed that at that time, the artist had presented himself for his interview in poor physical conditions: “Undermined by health problems, he can only travel with the help of his son Jules“, he revealed. A state of health which visibly did not improve in the months that followed since the man who had recently become a grandfather breathed his last ten days before Christmas…
