These parenting comics on Instagram have one thing in common: they show everyday parenting in an incredibly funny way.

Parenting comics abound on Instagram, each offering a tongue-in-cheek — but no less real — glimpse into the lives of new (or not-so-new) parents. We have collected some highlights and hope you enjoy reading them.

“This is what breastfeeding a newborn looks like.”

The baby is here – and it’s hungry. Constant. Quite incidentally, mothers then try to eat themselves, drink something from time to time, at least clean the roughest things and maybe, very briefly, also build in a little me-time. It’s amazing how many moms are able to multitask like this.

“Be careful or she will cry!”

“As if changing the twins’ diapers wasn’t enough. Stupid dolls!”

How naïve we sometimes are to think that the time to change diapers ends when our children reach a certain age. At the latest when they have their dolls – which can even pee these days – the whole fun starts all over again.

Sure, a degree, a promotion, and a raise are big accomplishments. But only the person who can get three toddlers to sleep at the same time—and somehow get all three children to sleep at the same time—knows what success means.

Two kids, twice the fun? Yes. And in some cases double the work and half the sleep.

“I can’t find it anywhere. It just disappeared!”

Children have many qualities – not necessarily when it comes to searching for things. However, they are unbeaten when it comes to losing things.

On weekdays it’s up to us to get our kids out of bed – not always entirely successfully, not always without nagging and nagging. The tables turn at the weekend and nobody will ever sleep in again. Also ok!

When it comes to toilet paper and the “correct” attachment of the roll, opinions differ. As this comic shows, everyone really has different ideas of what it should look like. Clear favourite: Dad’s way.
